But this year, don’t leave your gift to the last minute—skip the sad grocery store flowers and cheesy pun cards, and surprise your significant other/friend/mum/mailman with something super sweet (without the overload of sugar).

Decadent yet wholesome, these brownies are your Valentine’s Day secret weapon. Perfect for Galentine’s, date night, or a friend in need of a sweet pick-me-up. Because nothing says “you’re loved” like homemade chocolate… especially when you resist sneaking a bite.
Ingredients
- ¾cup of 80% dark chocolate, chopped
- ¼cup of Raw C Organic Virgin Coconut Oil, softened
- ½cup of coconut sugar
- 1cup almond flour
- ¼cup cocoa powder
- ½cup of dark chocolate chunks
- 3medium eggs
- 1pinch of salt
Method
- Preheat the oven to 180°C and line a brownie pan with baking paper.
- Melt the dark chocolate and Raw C Organic Virgin Coconut Oil in a heatproof bowl over simmering water, then set aside.
- In a separate bowl, whisk the eggs and coconut sugar for 5-7 minutes until pale and fluffy.
- Slowly mix in melted chocolate until combined.
- Sift in the almond flour, cocoa powder, salt and half of the chocolate chunks. Fold until smooth.
- Pour the batter into the pan and top with the remaining chunks.
- Bake for 18–20 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs for a fudgy texture or slightly wet batter for a gooey finish.
